Ultracoin to sponsor Great Pacific Race entrant Elsa Hammond

Ultracoin and BitcoinWoman Magazine are partnering up to sponsor Elsa Hammond’s efforts in the Great Pacific Race. Hammond will be taking part in the 2,400 mile race alone, with only her own rowing power to propel her in a journey that could last up to three months.

The journey will take participants from Monterey, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. The Ultracoin community aims to support the efforts both by helping to gain publicity, as well as with Ultracoin donations to a wallet address on Elsa’s wesbite. 

The Ultracoin Founder comments in a press release:

Team UTC and our community are thrilled to be able to support Ms. Hammond in her attempt to complete this amazing voyage and we are amazed by her drive and perseverance. Our community will also donate a substantial amount of UTC after completion to show our support in this incredible endeavour.

Charities will also benefit, with Elsa supporting gender equality charity The Great Initiative, as well as the very relevant Plastic Oceans Foundation. They help to raise awareness of the damage to oceans that come from waste plastics, including what’s become known as the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch” which is in close proximity to where the race itself will be taking place.
